RESCUE BOAT POLICY
- Club boats are only to be used for GFS
sanctioned events with the approval of the Officer of the Day.
- The boats are only to be taken out by
appropriately licensed drivers.
- It is the responsibility of the driver to
ensure the boat complies with Waterways minimum safety requirements. If the
boat does not comply it is not to be used.
- It is essential that a rescue boat has a
minimum of two (2) adult persons on board and a maximum of three (3) persons.
It is unsafe to attempt any form of rescue with only one (1) person on board.
- The Club Rescue Boat Logbook must be
filled in prior to the boat being used and upon its return.
- The Officer of the Day is to ensure the
completion of the log book entries and to note any defects relating to the
boat.
