GREENWICH FLYING SQUADRON

RESCUE BOAT POLICY

  1. Club boats are only to be used for GFS sanctioned events with the approval of the Officer of the Day.
  2. The boats are only to be taken out by appropriately licensed drivers.
  3. It is the responsibility of the driver to ensure the boat complies with Waterways minimum safety requirements. If the boat does not comply it is not to be used.
  4. It is essential that a rescue boat has a minimum of two (2) adult persons on board and a maximum of three (3) persons. It is unsafe to attempt any form of rescue with only one (1) person on board.
  5. The Club Rescue Boat Logbook must be filled in prior to the boat being used and upon its return.
  6. The Officer of the Day is to ensure the completion of the log book entries and to note any defects relating to the boat.
